How do I add Google Analytics to my Jux?

Last Updated: May 02, 2012 02:05PM EDT

Out of the box, Jux shows you the number of times people view each of your posts. (It doesn't count when you look at your own pages!). That's plenty of popularity data for most purposes. However, if you want to know more — like how people get to your posts or when — then sign up for Google Analytics. It's targeted at businesses rather than individuals, so be prepared to feel like you just stepped into an actuarial conference. But, hey, it's free and it works.

  1. Go to Google Analytics and sign up for a free account. If you already have Google Analytics then add a new Profile or Account to it.
  2. Enter the info for your Jux. Feel free to use your custom domain name if you have one. This is really just for labeling purposes.
  3. Copy the Property ID from your new Google Analytics account
  4. Go to your Jux Settings, paste the Property ID into the Google Analytics field and confirm your password. Done!
  5. You can see traffic counts immediately in the real-time analytics view. Alternatively, cool your heals. It could take a day or more for all the traffic numbers to update.

Happy Juxing!
