Logging in and out with multi-users - how to change the remember me default

I just signed up and clicked "remember me" (as a default) by mistake. This is a multi-user computer and I need to be able to log off and on, and allow others to do the same from here. I can't seem to find how to do that. I'm in and I can't get out! And, it's following me. Can you help? Thanks (and sorry for the lame question!)
